Dear parents and pupils of 5R,
Our term 1 holiday is here. After working hard for 10 weeks, it is good break for all of us. Let's take this week break for us to do some reflections. First, let's identify the areas we are weak at and we find solutions to solve it. Then, let's reflect our strength or areas which we have done well and we will think why we have done well and how we can do even better.
During this holiday, pupils can list down the things that you want to achieve or accomplish. For example, read a few more story books, spend more time with family, tidy up your room, complete school research, etc. After you have listed down, put a tick next to it if you have completed it. This will give you a sense of achievement.
Simple Assignment for the holiday
1) Research on plants (Project Work)
You only need to gather all the information. You do not need to write any report at this stage. You will share all the research with your group members when the school reopens.
- Identify all the plant parts.
- Define what a fruit is and what a vegetable is. Then compare.
- Does a vegetable bear fruit? (Don't give Yes/No answer only)
Support your answer with the “6-w” (why, what, where, when, who, and how)
Resources to help you to do research:
Textbook, guidebook, encyclopedia, internet, journal.
Make a trip down to our school or the community library to do your research.
2) Math Problem Sum Worksheet
3) Opportunity for you to earn stars for your Group:
Pupils who are able to give me a write-up (composition) on any three good deeds they have done during the school holiday will earn their group one star. Which means that if all the seven pupils in the group give me a writing about the three deeds you have done, your group will earn seven stars!
The good deeds can be how you help your family, friends or even someone you don't know!
(Call your group members to inform them about this great opportunity for your group to earn the stars!)
Last but not least, enjoy your holiday! Spend more time with your family!
Have fun!
